SIGI GRABNER AND THE SG PRO TEAM COMPETED IN THE XTEAM DECATHLON

The SG PRO TEAM competed in the XTeamDecathlon in Klopeiner See Region in Kärnten: 10 riders doing their best in 10 different sports. Everyone going to the limits and giving all for the team!
At 8:30 in the morning I opended the race for the SG PRO TEAM on the 36 km Race-Bike course handing over to Austrian SG PRO TEAM rider Ina Meschik who showed how fast a snowboard-girl can go on a technically difficult 20 km MTB-trail…
She chased her male opponents down to her finish-line in Griffen and handed over to SG PRO TEAM-friend Mitja Oranic, Slovenijan Nordic-Combined Pro, who charged very hard on his 22 km Skiroller track. He overtook some ski-rollers of other teams and was there in Bleiburg very fast to give the start to the SG PRO TEAM mountain runner Nevin Galmarini. For the Swiss rider Nevin it was a difficult task to run up the 13 km and 1.200m to the Petzen-mountain but he gave everything and as a Swiss living and training in the Mountains of Engadin he is used to climb high and steep mountains.
Nevin passed on to SG PRO TEAM friend Albert Lukasser , Austrian Paragliding Champion from beautiful Osttriol, who showed his class flying down from Petzen mountain to the Pirkdorf-lake in his well-known radical flying style. There he was awaited by German SG PRO TEAM rider Isabella Laböck who continued the race on her inline-skates for 24 km giving her male opponents of other teams a hard time. She showed no fear on the 1 km downhill where she reached at least 80 km/hour and gave everything on the last pitches before reaching the Klopein-lake where she passed on to the next German SG PRO TEAM girl Anke Karstens.
Ankes task was to swim 1500m through the Klopein-lake where she showed her excellent swimming technique and endurance and that a snowboard-girl is not only fast on frozen water. After Anke Austrian SG PRO TEAM SBX-rider Hans-Jörg Unterrainer started to his 19 km running course leading him to some well-known places and people who recognized Hans-Jörg cheered him which motivated him a lot and he gave everything on his last kilometres where Austrian PGS Snowboard World Champion Marion Kreiner waited for him in her canoe.
Marion who usually likes to spend her summers on a wake- or surfboard showed everyone that she can also be fast with a canoe and she could even overtake some other competitors. Marion gave everything down the 3,5 km canoe-track and finished it in 24 minutes and handed over to SG PRO TEAM finisher Christoph Maltschnig whos task was to row 5 km to Völkermarkt and to run into the finish. But Christoph had some bad luck and probably too much power: his rowing-boat had a defect and he had to jump out of his boat after only 1,5 km and he had to run all the way into Völkermarkt centre where the SG PRO TEAM riders were accompanying him into the finish.
It was a great day, a great experience for the team and every single rider gave everything for the team! Thanks a lot to all riders who competed and also to all the supporters: SG PRO TEAM rider from Slovenija Zan Kosir, Astrid, Johanna, Heri, Stefan and Elisabeth!
