WINGS FOR LIFE: SIGI IS PART OF THE MOVEMENT

“Running for those, who can’t” – the 3rd May 2015 was an incredible day, in the second year of the solidary race called “Wings for Life World Run”. Also for professional snowboarder Sigi Grabner: “Last year I did 35,85 km in Barcelona’s World Run, this year the idea was to take part in the movement. I had a lot of fun being pacemaker for some friends who took part for the first time in their life in a running event. We chose the World Run in Aranjuez, Spain. It was an incredible location”, told Sigi.

From solidary walkers, hobby joggers up to world elite runners: The WingsForLife World Run is a true spectacle. More than 101,280 participants worldwide on 35 locations at the same time took part and pushed themselves beyond their limit for a good cause. 100% of the entry fees of this event go to the Wings-for-Life Foundation, who supports scientific research of curing spinal cord injury. Sigi: “With my participation in the Wings for Life World Run I support the movement – I run for those who can’t!”

SIGI RUNS FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T

On 4th May 2014 snowboard icon Sigi Grabner exchanges his SG Snowboard against running shoes. He starts at 12 o’clock at the charity event Wings for Life World Run in Barcelona.

“In the last years I suffered a few lengthy injuries. Fortunately, everything is healed well now and I can start running after a 4-year break. Running is a sport that I’ve done since my childhood. I enjoy running much more than I did before. Now I have an idea what it means if you are not able to run,” told Sigi.

The Wings for Life World Run is an entirely new type of event never seen before or undertaken in either running or any other sporting field. It is a global adventure, encompassing up to forty locations, in which everyone runs at the very same time all over the world! 100% of the proceeds from the event will go to the Wings for Life foundation, which funds research into curing spinal cord injury. “With my participation at the Wings for Life World Run I would like to support the research for the cure of spinal cord injuries. I run for those who can’t!”

The run will unite athletes around the world, in one race running for those who can’t!
