Day 03: 30 April 2013, 223km, Bleiburg (AUT) \u2013 Maribor (SLO ) \u2013 Cakvez (CRO) \u2013 Nagykanizsa (HUN)<\/p>\n

Today is day3 of our tour and we have just stopped at a nice vineyard in Hungary after 223 km of eastward biking. We had to cross 3 borders today: Breakfast in Austria, lunch in Slovenia, coffee time in Croatia and now it\u2019s going to be dinner in Hungary. The change of landscape is amazing. Yesterday\u00a0we still were in snowcovered mountains, and today we will sleep in a vineyard. Everything is summer-like, the smells, the noises, the flowers. I remember how much I appreciated my wind\/water proof Xenon jacket in the morning and then I started the striptease crossing Croatia \u263a… now arriving in this lovely vineyard at Nagykanisza I have emptied several bottles of water and am wearing summer style shorts. We were lucky rolling eastbound, enjoying a nice southwestern wind, which was on our side and helped us to speed up .<\/p>\n

\"Road<\/a><\/p>\n

It\u2019s great to experience the changing oft he landscape so closely. It\u2019s also a changing of architecture, the style of villages, of vegetation. You see people in their backyards fixing the vine, it smells like hot summer plains and \u2013 of course \u201ePaprika\u201c! After this long and hot riding day, no one will prevent me of trying the home made Mangalitza pork and a load of fried potatoes today \u263a I am also seduced by this home-made fig preserves they have here\u2013 oh yes!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
